Founded in 2000, Church-Key Brewing is located in an 1878 Methodist Church on the outskirts of the town of Campbellford, Ontario.

The only microbrewery in picturesque Northumberland County, Church-Key features a variety of award-winning hand-crafted ales including our flagship Northumberland Ale and the multi award-winning Holy Smoke Scotch Ale. All of our ales are made in small batches from four ingredients: malted barley, hops, water, and yeast. Within these traditions, each Church-Key product has distinct properties of color, richness, and aroma that make it unique.

Open daily from 10am until dark, visitors are always welcome to learn all about the brewing process on a guided tour. Afterwards, sample our excellent ales in the tasting room. All of our ales are available in our gift shop in six-packs and Growlers along with local honey and bison products, and Church-Key clothing and glassware.

Church-Key On The History Channel

John Graham runs a microbrewery and is launching a brand new craft beer. It has all the right ingredients except one: a name. John looks to the past for inspiration, tapping into the history of beer names to land just the right one for his frothy new brew. He gets some help from beer connoisseurs like actor George Wendt (Norm from the TV show Cheers) and the ever-so-sophisticated Trailer Park Boys. This episode takes a romp through the history of beer by focusing on their names—from the successful (Labatt’s Blue) to the quirky (Hoptical Illusion) to the well, not so appetizing (The Smiling Dickhead). If you like beer—and even if you don’t—you can’t resist this rollicking story behind the naming of beer: what worked, what didn’t, and why it matters.

Here is a letter from a happy drinker

Hello! First I would like to start by saying I really enjoy your Red Brew. Second.. is my story.
My friend & I were out for a few brew last night. Enjoy the taste of Guinness from the draught, two of those & we decided on having a Black & Tan. My friend suggests we head back to my house for another Guinness (in a tall can) shoot some pool.
upon our arrival I mentioned to him I have some Churchkey Red...BINGO! Why don't we make our own... Black & Red!! I poured the Red first then gently over a spoon poured the Black! I should have taken a picture, as far as poured beers go I truly believe it was a beautiful thing.
Try it you'll like it I'm sure. Thanks Churchkey for the fantastic idea!!!
  your friend Paul!
